While your child is probably enjoying summer and the break from school, it’s a good idea to sneak in some learning every now and then. It will be easier than you think, too!
Be on the lookout for teachable moments, but here are some ideas to get you started:
- Make meal planning and cooking a family experience by allowing your child to read recipes and do the measuring.
- Have your child make the grocery list and organize it by category (dairy, fruits and veggies, meat, etc.)
- Take your child grocery shopping and have them help decide which items to buy, using math skills.
- Let your child research and come up with fun weekend destinations or vacation ideas.
